Amazon has, in fact, filed a patent for predictive shipping: based on your prior orders and other data modeling factors, Amazon is seriously considering identifying items you’re likely to want and shipping them to your area (if not to your door!) in consideration of the odds that you’ll order it soon - so it can arrive with minimal delay.
