VERY interesting...I got to know some Shambhalas in the 90's when I had a big interest in Buddhism. What really turned me off was learning that the "regent," the successor of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, was a gay man who had willingly infected unknowing young male students with HIV. There was controversy within the community about the fact that he was buried with high honor in his own stupa. As in, is it needless, harmful "attachment" to care about such a thing? I wonder if it was this man's half-brother that they were referring to here:

Mukpo’s older half-brother, Gesar Mukpo, son of Diana Mukpo and Trungpa, also was named a tulku and succeeded his father as leader of the Shambhala community after his death in 1987.

Oh, and one of them hit on me....brrrr. The whole group just seemed like a bunch of ironic egoists, smiling on the covers of the hip "Shambhala Sun" magazine like, or ooh I am so egoless...

Excellent Bible verse -- very apt for these times.

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
