The sweat-stained sheets of Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, still on her bed, a woman quarantined in a Dallas apartment said Thursday that she desperately wants her familys nightmare to end.
We cant wait to be over with everything, the woman, who asked to be identified only by her first name, Louise, told CNNs Anderson Cooper. We cant wait.
While Duncan is in isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, his partner and three others have been stuck in a Dallas apartment since his diagnosis this week. Louise told CNN that authorities had her sign paperwork stating if we step outside, they are going to take us to court (because) well have committed a crime.
So there she has stayed, along with her 13-year-old son and two nephews in their 20s. But it hasnt been easy.
Louise told CNNs Cooper by phone that she is checking her temperature every hour, and based on that and everything else, isnt sick. She expressed frustration being confined nonetheless, since people are only contagious with Ebola if they are symptomatic....

Agree she needs to remain quarantined, but can relate to not wanting to be in the place with body-fluid stains throughout. I read that a cleaning service was hired for the place but that opens a whole new set of questions.
She can’t take the bed sheets off the bed and put them in a garbage bag???
Whoa!
They live in an apt. complex. They can’t take a walk in the yard w/o contaminating the surroundings for others.
Why can’t they quarantine them in a safe environment and send in a hazmat team to clean the apartment? I would think that this is the rational approach.
If they aren’t already infected, intentionally infecting four more people isn’t going to help the situation. That’s four more contaminated ambulances, four isolation units, dozens more exposed medical staff. It’s like they’re trying to start a plague.
Bluto lives!
I’m pretty sure all those monkeys were from Asia, not Africa. But they could not track down the virus in Asia. Until a pig was found in Asia with Reston virus, apparently.
The scary thing is i read that the cuilding was destroyed, but it was replaced with a succession of toddler care businesses!
I think I agree with you. This is a townhouse complex at best. Everything is close quarters. Just staying behind doors will not necessarily spare the neighbors, especially since it was already outside!
A good question here, though, is how is this Duncan man doing?
So, I wonder where are those three children? Are they under quarantine as well? Or are they somewhere waiting to develop symptoms and inffect others?
I just ran across a report about 2 adults dying of an enterovirus in CO. No confirmation if it is the specific strain.
However, I am still concerned our biggest threat will be from the enterovirus. It has already popped up everywhere. The Ebola virus has the drama but I think the publicity this week especially masks the real threat.
Or, maybe it will be even.
I thought that I read that the living conditions were already pretty filthy before Ebola Man got there and that is one of the many problems in decontamination.
This is craziness. They should have been quarantined off site and the apartment and building should have been deconned.
Meh. Life hasn't been that freakin' sweet. If I die tomorrow bleeding out of every orifice, shrieking in unfathomable pain, with no chance of respite and in sheer agony, I'm okay with that.
Lemme see....they were in the apartment while the man was vomiting, etc. as a family unit, which means LOTS of close contact. And they have been in the apartment with the ebola virus ever since he left. Scratching my head at your ignorance of NOT knowing they are already exposed.
Your reply makes too much sense! That linen should be burned.
According to other articles Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins testified in a conference call that The sheets were placed in a sealed plastic bag and have been in the bag, as well as the belongings of Mr. Duncan, those were also in a bag.

I just saw on CNN (near 11 am CST) a phone conversation with the woman in the apartment. She said only the towels he had used had been placed in a plastic bag and that the bed sheets, etc., were still in place.
This is the same idiot County judge that ruled that Dallas would house a couple of thousand illegal aliens!
...I’m only watching CNN because for over a month Time Warner Cable has screwed up Fox News and ESPN so that they cannot be viewed or heard.
But in keeping a pile of live virus close, the continuous exposure potential will all but guarantee it.
These people are stupid, but not totally insane.
Ignorance complicated by a bad case of stupidity kept her from getting rid of that stuff. With complicity from the Dallas officials, equally ignorant and stupid.
Apparently there are Oprah reruns in Dallas who can be expected to watch the news?
