DALLAS More than a week after a Liberian man fell ill with Ebola and four days after he was placed in isolation at a hospital in Dallas, the apartment where he was staying with four other people had not been cleaned and the sheets and dirty towels he used while sick remained in the home, health officials acknowledged on Thursday afternoon.
Even as the authorities were reaching out to at least 80 people who may have had contact either directly or indirectly with the patient, Thomas E. Duncan, while he was contagious, they were scrambling to find medical workers to safely clean the apartment.
Health officials visited the Dallas apartment on Thursday where Thomas E. Duncan, the Ebola patient, had been staying.
The four family members who are living there are among a handful who have been directed by the authorities to remain in isolation, following what officials said was a failure to comply with an order to stay home. Texas health officials hand-delivered orders to residents of the apartment requiring them not to leave their home and not to allow any visitors inside until their roughly three-week incubation periods have passed...

That’s to make certain U.S. will grant him amnesty.
If the residents are quarantined in the apt., why can’t they clean it up?
Ebola was in the Dallas sewers before that.
I assume the sick man defecated and vomited into the toilet where he lived.
By now there are DOZENS of animals in the Dallas area who are carrying this infection.
It's now in the wild there and will never be completely eradicated.
Never.
Agnes, what do you suppose the real risk is of Ebola ending up in the ecosystem and finding a home? I hadn’t thought of what would happen when it got to the US. All I’ve really been doing is tracking it with a model, and seeing if the model sticks.
You know more about this than I would. What’s the real risk? If you don’t know, who might?
I can’t believe it made the jump as quickly as it did.
I’m wondering...does Lysol kill ebola?
Yes, I believe it, like bleach, will work. Any doctors here?
I’d guesstimate the 30% of the nurses aids and half the nursing home staffers in the Twin Cities are from Liberia or Nigeria.
Well, my wife being a teacher, and having two school age kids, during cold and flu season I frequently Lysol-bomb the house...I walk around every room spraying up in the air so most surfaces will get a dose.
I wonder why they don’t have disinfectant bombs like they have bug bombs.....definitely would be a market for it....now...
Not a clue other than idle speculation.
We have a lot of wild pigs in this country. It’s a symptomatic flu like non fatal illness in pigs. It’s also been found in deer like animals in Africa. We have lots of deer. etc.
Hunting season would cease were it to become endemic in either of those animals. Even running over one could be iffy if you consider blood spatter on the outside of your car when you opened your door.
You know a guy? Can’t leave this to the idiots working for the USG.
Tell me where to start looking and I will.
OMG, didn’t even think of that..time to panic yet?
LOL.
Wish I knew more though.
We are in uncharted territory.
I do know that after the Plague outbreak in the early part of the 1900’s, that Plague became endemic in the US for the first time.
Also saw that four people who were told to stay put in quarantine have bolted in direct violation of court order. This sounding more fishy all the time.
Locked in the infected apartment with others that were exposed and possibly infected, while maintenance workers are outside aerosolizing infected vomit without protective gear or area containment.
An absolute hellish nightmare worthy of a Twilight-Zone episode. Municipal, County, State, and mostly Federal officials have not only dropped the ball but have wildly hit it into a deep, deep water hazard.
You can’t make this stuff up, no ones mind is warped enough to write this plot. No one is at the reigns of government anymore and we are just sitting here gape mouthed watching the stampede.
Other countries have put travel bans from these countries -
Even with this man getting through the ‘no fever yet’ climb aboard - o’bummer is issuing NO NEW protocols.
Now, if you were in those countries and KNEW you had been exposed - and knew you ‘d likely not even be allowed hospital care - and flights out of country were banned to about everywhere by the US - where you knew you’d get the best care, might you go for it, even if you knew you might be charged later? At least you’d be alive.
That said: if we get a good enough outbreak going here - then public gatherings - ie, where people would be coming together - like voting places? - could be banned. Might even be ‘necessary’ to declare M. Law and suspend elections -
I fear we’ll see a lot more Duncan’s before SOMEONE in our gov’t forces actions to ban flights from these countries.
And one might ask - Where the he*l is the UN and a massive attack in setting up quarantine area with medical team and REAL
Found the answer to my own question. More children removed from their Richardson ISD classes now in monitored isolation at home.

Sanitary sewers go to treatment plants. The storm sewers goes to creeks and rivers.
CDC has stated killed with hospital grade disenfectant including household bleach.
Wait a minute, those people are held in the same apartment where the patient lived, slept, and secreted???
It worked out pretty good in the movie.
