I remember all of the idiotic hand-wringing. “Why do they hate us?” I told people, “I don’t give a damned” and got some shocked looks. Political correctness is a death cult in its own right.
I was working in Emeryville, CA on 9/11. The next day one tall office building raised a flag, and a lot of people raised hell, saying, “that’s why they attack, we provoke them”. Insanity!
