FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – As the turmoil in Ferguson enters its 10th day and businesses along West Florissant Avenue are picking up from another night of looting following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. The landscape for protestors has dramatically changed.

Demonstrators were informed Monday that they will no longer be able to march on West Florissant, stand in the turning lane and must keep moving during rallies. Protesters will also no longer be permitted to gather at the burned out QuikTrip on West Florissant which has become ground zero for protesters.

Governor Jay Nixon ordered the Missouri National Guard was deployed to help law enforcement officials regain control over West Florissant Avenue and protesters at night.

The guard will handle security at the police command center, freeing up more police for protection of property and crowd control on West Florissant.

On a side note rap star and St. Louis native Nelly showed up in Ferguson late Monday afternoon to see what was happening on West Florissant for himself.

Nelly recently announced that he had set-up a scholarship fund in Michael Brown’s name.

How do you know your protest is pointless? When Nelly shows up to tell you that you gotta have a plan...(and he doesn’t have one, just in case you were wondering, someone asked.)

There you go, everyone, the fat lady has sung.

Been wondering when Nelly would make an appearance, as it seems like 99% of those protesting have been in his videos.

Lot of people seriously unimpressed with Nelly. “You got options,” he tells crowd. “YOU got options – you’re rich,” a guy shouts back.

Tough crowd. They dissed Al “Snitch” Sharpton and Jesse “Shakedown” Jackson, too.

I guess it won’t be long before “representatives” from La Raza, Al Qaeda, ISIS, the Muzzie Bros. and HamAss show up. What a freak show this is turning out to be.

Whoa Nellie, it’s Dick Lane. He played a cop in a lot of the old “Boston Blackie movies.

Wound up his career as a sports announcer:

I copied the following from http://www.latbirds.net/los-angeles-thunderbirds.htm

Television and Dick Lane

Dick Lane
During much of the 1960’s and 70’s, T-Bird games were broadcast in prime time by KTLA in Los Angeles and also shown in many other markets in the United States as well as internationally. Sunday night T-Bird games were one of the highest rated TV programs in the Los Angeles market for many years.
The voice of the T-Birds was Dick Lane, who coined the phrase “whoa Nellie” which has been used since by others such as Keith Jackson. Lane started his Roller Derby broadcasting career in 1951 and then joined KTLA and the T-Birds in the 60’s. Lane was often assisted in the press box and the infield by Bill “Hoppy” Haupt. Many “Los Angelinos” place Lane alongside Vin Scully, Chick Hearn and Dick Enberg as one of the greatest announcers in this early history of Los Angeles sports. Lane retired in 1972 and died in 1982 and will forever be missed.

Thanks for the info on Dick Lane. I was born in ‘47, so it’s quite possible that my Dad watched some of those roller derby programs in the 60’s.
