The flight restriction was issued Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. local time.

This was much ado about nothing. It was called off by 4:00 PM.

And there were no reports of shots fired at a police chopper.

All I could recall was the video and pictures from Egypt when the Cairo riots happened a few years ago and the protestors all had green laser pointers and had completely bathed the military helicopter over Tahrir Square with green lights.

The FAA says they’re a distraction, if there are hundreds of them pointed at a chopper, I have to imagine that pilot is damn near flying blind.
