Congratulations on the 24 years. Perhaps Mr Williams’s substance abuse was just a symptom of an underlying mental condition. BiPolar is a tough disease, as I have witnessed within my family, immediate and extended.

Thanks. I can tell you after many fits and starts when I made the decision to quit living in a bottle it wasn't met with any credence. But it wasn't anyone else’s problem or fault other than my own. Depression, the most common form of mental illness, unfortunately still suffers a stigma that a person is ‘’crazy’’(a bad person, morally) and it's this, more than anything else that often prevents people from seeking treatment.
