We do know the answer. The Kurdish fighters are a disciplined fighting force. The Iraqi army is a disorganized joke. Air strikes in support of them would have made no difference.

At this point, I couldn’t care less what happens with that hot mess down in Baghdad. If these airstrikes and arms shipments can help the Peshmerga regain their footing and go on offense against ISIS, all the better.
