Sonoma County prosecutors spent $63,000 on outside consultants, and other expenses during an investigation into the shooting death of a child, who was shot and killed by a County Deputy Sheriff.
The expense, included $10,000 payment to a William Lewinski, director of Minnesota-based, Force Science Institute who bills himself as an authority and is known in legal circles as someone who can be relied upon.
The report concluding Gelhaus had to shoot 13-year-old Lopez to stop a perceived threat to the deputy and his partner.

Lewinski is well-known to be an ass-kisser and excuse maker for LEO wrongdoing. This “review” was worthless. Ravitch is a political animal, not a competent DA.
Terrible incident. Predictable outcome for the incident and the ensuing legal battle.
Not surprised the National Lawyer’s Guild.....aka the commie rat lawyers....have taken up the cause.
Having attended some of the force science training I know it is not junk science nor is it the final word. It is the scientific study of biomechanics, human decision making, combinedn with some other interesting factors that affect people and officers in high stress incidents.
The attorney for the dead kid is the president of the National Police Accountability Project.
Their website proudly lists that they are a project ofmthe National Lawyer’s Guild....the legal arm of the Marxist communist revolution inside the USA for the last 80 years.
The important thing is, another ‘Quickdraw McGraw’ hair-triggered LEO made it home safely to his family.

The idea that the cops should shoot on sight anyone carrying a gun if not in cop uniform is wrong so many ways.
Shoot first and ask questions later is not a good policy.
These killer cops are cowards and bullies and ought to be put down like mad dogs,not rewarded.
When I was a kid we played with very realistic looking toy guns as well as BB guns and I never heard of the cops 50 years ago shooting kids -no stupid orange tips either.
The problem is entirely with the police agencies and their bootlicking defenders.
That's a lot of money for a Lewinski -- Bill Clinton got his for free.
According to the ME and the report, the kid was shot in the back -- plain and simple.
First two shots when the kid had his back turned to the "hero" -- next three shots in his right side as he was turning to see who was shooting at him -- and last three in his buttocks as he lay on the ground dying.
I hope the police of Santa Rosa enjoyed their Lewinski.
I guarantee that Santa Rosa will be paying out $15+ million in the civil action, whether Lewinski shows up in his blue dress or not.
