Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014.
I am at a social event of the New York Young Republican Club in midtown Manhattan. A friend, who just got back from London, shares with me a picture of the U.S. Embassy in Westminster. It has two rainbow flags draped in front of the entrance, and tells me that no American flag was in sight.
Friday morning, July 11.
Believing that the picture was newsworthy, because American embassies are not supposed to fly flags of opinion unless they are under direct order by the government, I published a short article on the Blog of the Club’s website.
Within minutes of publishing, Ben Max of the Gotham Gazette (whose homepage photo at the time featured LGBT protestors in Albany, if I recall), tweeted @NYYRC, something to the effect of “This borders on completely inappropriate.” Why ‘completely inappropriate?’ Mr. Max never said. The tweet has since been scrubbed, from both Ben Max’s twitter account and the NYYRC’s.

Well, we are getting pretty close to it already. That and the incessant posts with nothing more than a link to a youtube vid. I mean, bloody hell. A link to a youtube vid that someone finds interesting is worthy of a post here?
There are some of us who have no problem with ‘blog-pimping’.....just so you know that not all of us are jerks. ;-) That is, as long as the blog has useful information.
