I guess that by this logic, we should not bash Nazis either. Or the Khmer Rouge. I guess that you can find some good-hearted motivations within any group, and therefor would never be able to distinguish between good and bad, better or worse .
Just because Nazi ideology advocated killing Jews (like the quran does), this “logic” would see no reason to associate anything negative to those who choose to become Nazis.
In my opinion, Muhammad simply co-opted many long popular religious practices, and hitched them to his personal drive for totalitarian power, as so many cult leaders have before or since. So yes, there are parts of islam that are endearing or uplifting - but those parts pre-date islam. What Muhammad brought that was new is fundamentally flawed, famously summed up as Lechery, Treachery, and Butchery.
Ultimately in Islam, there is no objective morality, except for the interest of the gang and its leader. Anything is considered moral, if it is in the interest of the propagation of the power of the gang and its leader - murder, slavery, rape, incest, extortion, robbery, genocide, whatever. The only thing that is considered unequivocally immoral in Islam is questioning, or resisting the absolute dictatorship of the gang or its leader.
Nazis had cute babies and sweet little grandmas, and they had human feelings like anyone else, but their ideology was fundamentally flawed and destructive. So is islam - rotten from its founding. It is not a religion like others - it was a highjacking of religion for immoral political purposes.
Post 86: Very convincing. But I still don’t think all Muslims are bad people. I do think that all Nazis are bad people.
