One day I had a tube of toothpaste that was almost all gone.
About 1/2 oz of paste left. I took it on travel, after reading TSA rules of “not over 3 oz. of liquids or gels.”
TSA agent (using term loosely) said it was too big, over the 3 oz limit. (Original size was maybe 6 or 8 oz.) So I said, I will give you the paste, but your rules say ...
Well, I have to take it. I quit there, needed to get home, and my 1/2 oz tube was kind of an experiment anyway.
Leaving the airport at my final destination, I asked a higher rank TSA agent why? He said they were concerned about using the containers to mix stuff.
Later the wording was changed to say “containers of more than 3 oz.”
And I feel safer too /s
And I’m sure it was a pure coincidence that right after those restrictions were imposed, that airlines started charging for checked luggage.....yep.
