Do black people wash their hair every day like white people do? I’m curious. Also, don’t black ladies wear lots of wigs? Finally, if I lotion my whole body from head to foot, couldn’t one assume that I would bring a gallon (or at least a quart) of moisturizer with me wherever I go?

As a black woman I can answer...
some do but some don’t.
Yep, wigs are popular with black women.

The black hair care industry is a billion dollar one. Bad economy doesn’t seem to impact it.
See the documentary GoodHair which goes into all the details.

People shouldn’t wash their hair everyday - doing so strips all the natural oils out and unless you’re a chimney sweep or something - there’s no need to. I wash my hair about once every three months or maybe 4 times a year

I used to stock personal hygiene products years ago. One of the smelliest things that ever broke was some sort of hair gel for black people. How anyone could wear it is beyond me.
