Women dont respect a non-whiny one either.
When you have the entire court and governmental structure set up to be a replacement husband, with all of the power to render a man destitute at her whim, and you have 200 years of stupid dudes, playing the roll of the “white knight” that have treated women as victims and “little darlings” so they can feel like some manly protector, then what do people expect from today’s culture?
And let’s not even get into how feminism, gay culture, and now the omnipresent danger of women lodging fake rape charges have made an environment where lots of men are rightfully afraid.
Generally, women don’t respect men.

Rule # 1 - be a godly man of respect and you will probably be respected. Be strong and honorable and no whining
Rule # 2 - treat her with respect. If you are being disrespected its possible that they may be reflecting back what you are giving them
Rule # 3 - don’t take offense to what they are saying. People say stupid stuff. Some of my comments on this forum prove it.
Rule # 4 - spend time with each other outside the home snd enjoy each ither’s company. Go to church, movies, find a hobby you both like and do it together, take vacations or mini-trips. If you don’t have money there’s always fishing, hiking, or going on picnics. People that enjoy each other’s company are less likely to pick at and be critical of each other.
Rule # 5 - keep yourself attractive. Workout, groom, and dress fashionably (within reason). Some people just let themselves go and then wonder why their mate looks at them differently now.

That is true.
Any woman worth her salt wants a man to be protective and decisive.
I know it's a fine line, to walk between being decisive and overbearing, but I do think that it can be done.
The last thing a woman wants is another dependent child in a man's body.
