I heard about this poll……and what’s interesting is that while for decades conservatives have been the most likely group to be proud of America, I think that’s shifting. I for one would probably say “no” today - because America today has almost no resemblance to the country I have been proud of most of my life.

Used to be proud is closest to my present feeling because of what the country is becoming. But still proud of what this country was founded upon and what it, as a nation and a people, has accomplished before its present, and apparently inexorable, decline.

I agree. When U.S. embassies are flying the gay pride flag instead of the American flag, there isn’t much left to be proud of.

Same here. I’ve been proud of my country for most of my 52 years. But, today’s America is a country of moochers, crony capitalists, homosexuals, criminals, and sluts. Whenever someone with traditional values tries to speak up, they are shouted down as being “mean” or a “hater”.

And now the Republican party has officially taken a stand against Americans with traditional values. I honestly wish that the socialists who run our nation would change the flag so I don’t have to see the stars and stripes desecrated by being on stage with our politicians or being used as a prop to signal the beginning of the opening festivities at a football game.

I was in Mongolia a few years after the demise of the soviet union. I always have an icebreaker when meeting with a group and my questions was, “What are you most proud of?” Each and Every one of them was intensely proud of their country and heritage. I remember thinking by answer would not be the USA and current culture.

Remember that the soviet union repressed their history and culture for political correctness for over 70 years. Once removed, they rediscovered their heritage, every new business was name Genghis Kahn. It was like the wild west there, there were no rules, it was just get it done.

It gave me hope, we will rediscover our heritage when the time is right.

Perhaps, then, it is time to do a Bidenian partition of the US into 3 parts:
- an East Coast country, Essex,
- a West Coast country, Wessex
a Central/South country, Middlessex.

It splits fairly naturally, except for IL (an E. coast state in the midwest) and perhaps MN. All 3 have ports. Most of the oil is in Middlesex, but that's Ok because the Essex and Wessex governments don't like fossil fuels, anyway.

Some of the states near the borders may want to either hold a plebiscite or split (e.g. VA into NVA and SVA), so most citizens get their wish. E. MD would not be happy in Essex but could join up with SVA in Middlesex. E. Washington and Oregon may also want to join up with Middlesex.

All 3 new countries could do what they like to do: Essex to have high taxes, strong unions, and take in lots of welfare recipients, Wessex take as many of the illegals as they want and practice LGBT to their heart's content, Middlesex could continue with their old value system, hunt, and put up a fence along the Mex border. The armed forces would be split equally between the 3 new countries who could then fund their pieces as their citizens prefer.

The blacks would be roughly equally split between Middlesex and Essex if they stayed in situ but could and would move to another country as they desire, as could the Amerinds.
