Culture is what drives homicide rates. Japanese Americans, with relative easy access to firearms, have lower murder rates than Japanese in Japan. At least they did the last time we kept records, about 1980. Then political correctness stopped the record keeping.

After arrest the public prosecutor doesn’t even need to bring charges for something like 23 days —they can keep you up all night, night after night, questioning the suspect.
Confessions lead to conviction in…maybe 98% of the time.
If he never makes any kind of statement to the cops in that time then it’s very, very unusual.
