Let them kill each other. No easier way to reduce Islam than that.

Well, not exactly unheard of since the administration has been arming and supplying them for a while and were even given a trial run with anti-tank weapons.

The foreign policy elites seem intent on rolling back American Power in that part of the world. The resulting power-vacuum will be filled by somebody. Russia? Iran? The Caliphate-reborn?

Obama seems to be pushing the last option.

From the above link.

“To make it clear, our allies are only delivering these missiles to trusted groups that are moderate,” one senior leader of rebel group Harakat Hazm told WSJ”

...and there is lies the problem. “trusted groups”

A caliphate is an Islamic state led by a supreme religious and political leader known as a caliph.

Accurate but misleading.

"The" Caliphate is not "an Islamic state," it is "The Islamic State."

By definition, at least in the sense used by ISIS, all other Muslim states are illegitimate and should be fought by all good Muslims, with the goal of overthrowing them and joining them to The Caliphate.

The caliphate's weakness, or at least this caliphate's weakness, is legitimacy. Why should this guy be accepted by other Muslims as The Caliph? What is his right to rule based on?
