It took 17 days for Lesvia and her young daughter to get to the United States before being caught by U.S. Border Patrol Agents.
A journey she endured to help her ailing mother back in Honduras who is battling cancer.
For days, they walked across Central America.
They walked through and hid in mountains in Mexico to survive.
Sometimes she paid officers to let them keep going.
At one point even traveling alongside a group of 300 mothers and children as they crossed through Central America.
She committed to the journey, hoping that the rumor back in Honduras was true - that in the United States undocumented immigrants crossing with their child were being released by federal agents.
"From all the walking, all the mountains we crossed, hiding from border patrol because they couldn't see us," Lesvia said in Spanish. "But in the end they caught us but I had an advantage that I had my daughter. They were saying that with children you could cross.
The cuts on her feet now serve as a reminder of the treacherous journey she went through with her daughter.
Despite the hardship, Lesvia says she would do it all over again.
That's because she did it for her ailing mother back in Honduras who's trying to beat the odds and survive cancer.
"It is very hard knowing that your mom has cancer and knowing that she doesn't have a part of her body - it is very hard," Lesvia said. "That is why I made the decision to come to this country to help my mom and give my daughter a better future."

I think we should spend more time and effort helping those countries than importing their problems here. The money would go a lot farther down there.
But just pumping in money would create corruption. Instead of leaving those countries they should be stirring up anti-corruption revolutions. They need to modernize their economies and it would cost a lot less for us to help with that than bringing those people here.
I think it would benefit all of our countries.

Yes, we preferred our farms. Nobody wants family scattered all over the globe. But that is what has happened. Please someone ask Hillary and Obama why to impose a 2 year ban on Honduran produce because we rejected interference in our affairs as we handled “dictator prevention”. This would be like Supreme Court and Pentagon removing Obama because he is planning to become permanent president. We have had enough of that and Nicaragua, Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela...look how bad off their are. We have no interest in being part of the leftist bloc. Even Costa Rica is socialist. Hillary had no business getting in volved in our affairs, we did not ask for help and did not need it. Some 1500 Venezuelans were arrested and deported, they were involved in the red protests, it was not us. A few were, as we have gangs still, but not many. They were paid by Chavez to make riot, call CNN to film. Recession, coffee fungus, now coming Chinese collapse. were after. So we have 4 terrible things in a row happen to us.
