My utility company requires a SSN... Why can't I only need a utility bill to open bank account, get credit cards, secure a loan, buy a house... ??NYC so dedicated to illegal aliens...$8 million price tag might be better spent on other priorities, including the hiring of firefighters and police officers....City Council on Thursday also earmarked nearly $5 million of the city budget to expand a pilot program that provides free legal representation for detained immigrants facing deportation... Free lawyers, freedom of strict ID laws.. NYC did not learn from 9-11-....

“The municipal ID is more than just a card – it provides New Yorkers who are currently living in the shadows with dignity and peace of mind,” de Blasio said.

So....all it takes to become a legal New Yorker - in NYC - is to just be there. I’m so glad these law breakers will be able to have dignity and peace of mind, now. /s

Now that’s going to be a database worth hacking.

"Applicants can obtain a card using a foreign birth certificate, driver's license or proof of residence such as a utility bill."

Anyone catch some inconsistencies in this statement?

How did someone here ILLEGALLY get a driver's license?

Why would they want a municipal ID card? They paid good money, dammit to buy a stolen ID and SSN!

It allows them to cash welfare and EITC checks already.

Sounds like NYC is good place for other states to send illegals to. Bus them in. DC is another great place for depositing illegals. Keep them in blue states where they can hurry along the cultural/economic ruin that Democrats are already doing.

Do applicants have to swear they approve of abortion and gay marriage? Cuomo just said if you don’t approve of these things, you are not a New Yorker and should get out. De Blasio said he agrees with what Cuomo said 100%.

So glad I moved the hell out of there. 2 years ago working 12-14 hours a day only to see my paycheck obliterated by taxes until I finally got wise and looked at the welfare office I was driving by everyday with the lines of illegals waiting. WTF am I doing? I think I quit my job and moved that week. That city is finito, dead. It is the new Detroit and it’s going to be amusing to see how Wall street holds up.

sign apartment leases

That should be interesting being that rents have shot up 2000% in the past 10 years thanks to the city taxing the living efffin' crap out of building owners. I think the minimum rent in Manhattan now is $3500 for a one bedroom and in the outer boroughs it's around $2500, and that was last year when I looked out of curiosity. It's probably $4000 and $3000 now. So I guess basically what's going to happen is you'll have 30 illegals all staying in a one bedroom.

"New Yorkers who are currently living in the shadows..."

Uh...If they're not here legally, they're not actually "New Yorkers." They're still citizens of wherever they are from.

"NYC did not learn from 9-11"

Unfortuantely, at least for those who are running the city, I'm afraid you are right.

“NYC did not learn from 9-11”
Sad but true..
the liberal mind, a short memory is critical to it’s survival.
Benghazi is old news,
9-11 is ancient history

The legislation puts New York on a list of other U.S. cities with large immigrant populations - Los Angeles, San Francisco and New Haven, Connecticut - that have instituted municipal ID programs.

All commie scumbag faggot cities with high taxes and lots of rules for the working stiff, the parasites have carte blanche though.

These places will all end up like Detroit in the next 20 years.
