I can't sleep, because I have seared visions of all those poor, loyal Iraqi soldiers rounded up, handcuffed with terror in their eyes and forced to speak in a video while cowards in machine guns watch. These poor men, wondering, expecting that eventually someone will rescue them, and they'll be home.
I see some who are obviously veteran soldiers, probably who have engaged in many battles over the years, who were trained by our soldiers, fought besides us and with whom they still have warm friendships.
I can't sleep, because I keep seeing them on their knees, then murdered one by one, tumbling forward like bear cubs.
What kind of people are we that we sit back and do nothing for people with whom our soldiers fought and maybe died with?
What advice is our military giving our president? I'm not in the military, but I see these AlQaida cowards, driving brazenly down a single road in broad daylight, and I wonder...why don't we mow them down with our jets? With our drones? This would send a message to those Iraqi soldiers that we're with you.
Why don't we kill these cowards, then use what ever diplomacy you wish afterwards, but let's start with a clear message.
I feel sick. This is not the America I've known.
Say what you wish about Malaki and anyone else there in power in Iraq, but these people asked for our help, and we don't help?
This is bad people. Very bad.
What kind of people are we?
Just remember Obama has it all under control
I can’t sleep thinking about it either
Except, we're not.
Amen. Prayers of help for them and of repentance for America.
I can’t sleep because I have to be to work in an hour, but I can’t get my mind off this situation, either.
Don’t forget zero let this al-baghdadi guy go in 2009.
It’s not the people, It’s Congress and politically sensitive military.
When imbeciles are enfranchised, bad stuff happens.
I watched the video of Daniel Pearl getting his head sawed off by disgusting monsters.
I am haunted by that vision.
I believe that beheading should be required viewing by most American adults. It would wake up many to the horror of what we are dealing with.
These images are ugly to look at, but in my opinion are necessary. This is the reality we live in.
I do not say this in any disrespect to the Iraqi military, but I can’t imagine our soldiers would lay down their arms and succumb like lambs to these....these, yes...monsters. I would take as many with me.
And will the gutless media remind him?
Well.... ISIS is collapsing political structure - including the military - like butter. Word is Iraqi government was going to vote on asking us for drone strikes, but too many had fled to convene a quorum.
Look for Baghdad to melt away, politically, too.
Yeah. What is he saying? “I have my team looking at options that we may use in the days ahead.”
Can you imagine Stonewall Jackson or Custer or Grant or Patton or Nimitz saying that with the enemy in your gun sites?
What is going on here?
I read and heard where Malaki asked early on for air strikes when AlQaida was marching down a single road from Mosul.
The odd thing that really got me was how the ISIS guy kept looking over at the Iraqi soldier and clapping him on the shoulder like they were best buddiess. I imagine the conversation went something like this, "You see my friend, We represent the true Islam and the Caliphate for all Muslims. You chose the wrong side and now it is time to pay the price of the Infidel."
What video is this? I watch a lot of news coverage and I missed it.
Have you read ISIS’ ‘ten commandments’? This group seems very contrived, engineered to me. zero won’t do anything until Baghdad either melts or fights back... which should commence today.
That kind of behavior on the Iraqi military’s part says to me that they are in collusion with the monsters herein referred to.
What’s even sadder is that this kind of collapse was utterly predictable and predicted.
They are all out there. They make you stomach turn. YOu feel for these poor men, and you cannot help but imagine our own sons and daughters being in the hands of these people.
I understand that we have hundreds of American contractors there. I hate to say this, but maybe it will take a video or two of a handful of them being treated the same way by these cowards with guns to wake us up.
Most of our soldiers would fight back. About 20% of civilians would fight back.
But the vision of scared people calmly getting into train cars not too many years ago comes to mind. Remembering this should help us understand that most people meekly accept being murdered by evil.
I don’t know why, but they do.
