If it is a “contract agreement” someone needs to provide the “consideration” aspect for me.

It has been quite interesting to see how often this administration has prevented embarrassing information from coming out by getting federal employees to sign after the fact NDA’s. Benghazi is another example. You are exactly right - what was the consideration? I am aware of NDA’s after the fact in employment situations - but there was something of value provided to keep the employee quiet - a raise or something. Private companies can do that sort of things - private matters.
In the current administration’s case it is becoming more apparent than ever that they are either just intimidating the hell out of people with unenforceable NDA’s or they are using our tax dollars to in essence bribe federal employees to not divulge information that should be divulged - at least to Congress. This all stinks.
