After long-time (and I mean long time) Mississippi Senator Thad Ive been senile for years Cochran was cajoled into running one last time (after having announced his retirement) against Tea Party-type Chris McDaniel, only to lose just enough to be in a run-off (giving him close to around multiple of zero change of winning), the crusty old Big Government Progressives in the Republican Party cant be too happy about the following news:
Eric Cantor, long thought of by the Haaavahd and Yale elites that have been jacking up the country since about 1900, to be the next Speaker, should they have to concede John Crybaby Boehner to appease the Republican rank-and-file, isnt doing so hot in his own primary challenge In just two years, hes fallen from about 72 support to just barely topping 50% vs. Dave Brats 40%.
Maybe, just maybe, Americans want an option to the Democrats Progressivism, and its zero-calorie version in the GOP.

This kind of thing must just...
No, it doesn’t tickle me to pieces but if re-electing Graham is the price to get rid of Harry Reid, then I’m glad to pay.
“What happens on Tuesday is not nearly as important as what happens in November.”
So you’re Republican Congressman from Skokie (or wherever) predisposed to vote for Amnesty, even though your calls are running 20 to 1 against Amnesty. But the leadership is BEGGING for your support, so you figure you’ll give them this vote - and then make up with your constituents on later votes.
What happens next - you see Cantor LOSE HIS PRIMARY, something unheard of for a Congressional leader. And he lost because of AMNESTY and only Amnesty.
So when Cantor, who’s now a lame duck, taps you on the shoulder and begs you for that Amnesty vote - you might look at him a bit differently, particularly if you don’t want to immediately be forced to join him on K-Street.
“I see no benefit in defeating a republican in June if that results in a democrat winning in November.”
Two things:
1) Defeating Cantor on Amnesty means that the entire push for that crap will be on life-support, as other Congressmen will treat it as radioactive. Keeping one extra House seat would be fine if it were a no-name Republican, but this guy is pushing to repopulate the country with people from South of the Border, and he’s in the leadership position to do so - all he needs to do is call a vote and it’s GAME OVER, right now.
2) There isn’t a Democrat running in that district.
“I would much rather have Speaker Cantor than Speaker Pelosi.”
Arguable - when Pelosi was Speaker Amnesty went nowhere...although that would like change if she got back there.

You like your ObamaCare?
Well, one problem is that we all have to pay along with you.
I'm not an absolutist on this. I'd like to see Reid gone as well.
But people like you seem even more single-minded, to the point that you seem to be saying that you will vote for ANY Republican at any time.
I'd love to see a list of accomplishments you will expect out of a McConnell/Graham/Corker Senate and a Boehner/Cantor/McCarthy House...Reduced spending? Lower taxes? Tough border/immigration laws? Strict Constructionist judges? Stronger 2nd Amendment protections? Repeal of Obamacare?
What is your big selling point?
There really is no telling! Lets hope we soon have Congressman Brat fighting for our liberty rather than Eric Cantor pimping amnesty. This victory would be huge. In fact, I think its ramifications on the party itself would actually be bigger than the victory of Senator McDaniel.
Ummm, Cantor has no Democrat challenger, so Brat would walk into the seat
Your statement on Lindsey Graham is beyond stupid. Lindsey Graham is the senator from SOUTH CAROLINA. There is ZERO chance of a Democrat being elected statewide there. So why would you not support his primary challengers who are about 70 times more conservative?
“You like your ObamaCare?”
I certainly like it better than Amnesty. Amnesty ENDS THIS COUNTRY as we know it, Obamacare can be reversed.
“But people like you seem even more single-minded, to the point that you seem to be saying that you will vote for ANY Republican at any time.”
I will vote for any republican when that keeps the seat from being filled by a democrat.
“I’d love to see a list of accomplishments you will expect out of a McConnell/Graham/Corker Senate and a Boehner/Cantor/McCarthy House...”
Keeping the democrats out of power is sufficient.
That's worse than silly, it's Rovian.
You acknowledge you have no hope for different goals or policies from your RINO friends.
You just hope you will be in for a bigger cut of the spoils.
“I see no benefit in defeating a republican in June if that results in a democrat winning in November.”
Primaries are to select which member of your own party will be you candidate in November.
Are you really this clueless about the election process?
“Are you really this clueless about the election process?”
My friend, I’m sorry you missed my point. I will spell it out for you.
It does no good to nominate a candidate in the primaries in June who stands no chance of beating the democrat in November. Doesn’t matter how good voting for that person in June makes you feel. What matters is beating the democrat in November. Unless you can do that, none of your preferred policies will ever get enacted.
If the only republican running in the primary who can beat the democrat in November is a liberal republican, then vote for the liberal republican.
“That’s worse than silly, it’s Rovian.”
No, what is silly is voting for a candidate in June who is certain to lose in November.
The Cantor district is R+10. Only a Republican will win. They are not going to put a House leader in a district they could lose to a Democrat in a bad year.
The only primary that is anywhere near Akin-like is Tom Horne (R) against Cathy McMorris. The most conservative scenario is Tom Horne gets in 2nd place and it is McMorris vs Horne in November.
Nothing substantial is getting enacted while Obama is in office and Harry Reid has 41 votes.
Stopping 12 million undocumented Democrats is important and whether there is 230 or 240 House Republicans is irrelevant to that.
There needs to be a good performance by Brat like Frank Roche getting 41% against Ellmer’s backers.
Susan Collins is going to win her primary.
I think 16 of the most conservative House Republicans should threaten to vote for Pelosi as speaker if amnesty is passed.
