If she was gay! I lived a long time as a single woman. I did not date much and when I did, I did not advertise. I am sure there were people who would have thought me gay as well. It just took me a long time to find the one God had for me.

I would say no since that word tends to denote being sexual active. I’d prefer to use a term more along the lines of “a chase person who experiences same-sex temptations or attractions” although since Miss Davis never seemed to feel the need to announce to the world whatever sexual attractions she experienced(if any), we’ll never know for sure. And personally speaking I am grateful that she never made a public announcement about such a private, personal matter. We hear too much about that in our current culture already.
