S. Korea introduces female-only parking spaces—they're larger, w/ pink outlines & a miniskirt logo

Practical or patronizing?

South Korea is spending mega-money on creating larger car parking spaces for women.

Capital city Seoul is introducing "lady-friendly" spots reserved exclusively for female drivers, the Korea Times reports.

Wider and longer than regular spots, they will be closer to elevators and marked out with pink mini-skirted logos.

It's not yet known, however, if men will be fined if busted for using them.

Korea Times reports the initiative is part of a nearly $700 million push to make the metropolis more female-friendly over four years.

Other projects include installing 7,000 new women-only toilets, and the resurfacing of some sidewalks with a squishy material to help those wearing high heels.

"It is like adding a female touch to a universal design and make things more comfortable for women," Assistant Mayor for Women and Family Affairs Cho Eun-hee told the Korea Times.

I still like them better with a grown-up image - and their natural ability to make Katy Perry look so - ahem - frumpy while standing next to them earns big bonus points. :)

Oh My Gosh!

I have never seen that pic before!

I Like Katy Perry too, but that pic of SNSD is awesome!

I will say I think my Favorite vid of theirs is The Japanese "Oh" vid.

It's like a Tribute to 1950's America.

Everything is linked somewhere on their English-language fan site Soshified. They get photographed every day doing some promotion or another, so there is a lot of good material there.

Their new song 'Mr.Mr.' kind of brings back the darker and edgier look and feel of their "Black Soshi" period in 2011 - which I like best:

Girls' Generation 소녀시대 'Mr.Mr.'

That might eventually become my new tagline: "SNSD: Making American female singers look fat and sleazy since 2007." :)
