The story of Chosin is one of the most astounding and outstanding stories of all times. Truly a time when uncommon valor was common.
I’ve tried to read every account of the battle I could and am more humbled and my respect for the Corps increases each time I read more.
I agree, it's staggering what they did, almost unimaginable even when you read about it and know they did it.
They get together regularly, although my uncle says that there are fewer and fewer every year. Sometimes a bunch of them talk at educational events. My nephew did a school report and my uncle arranged for several of the Marines to contribute by telling him their stories.
We need to listen to them and remember what happened. Nothing PC about it.
