They must have forgetten one; The law California Law that says if you have been hospitalized due to your mental problems, then you cannot legally get a gun. A 5150 law allows for a three day stay in the psych. ward to assess your level of danger to self and other. This would have made all the difference.

In Elliot’s case, neither parent, no teachers, neither of his two childhood friends called 911 for help. That’s what you do to take things to the next step when there is a clear and present danger, you ask for professional intervention. This boy was smart and manipulative enough to switch the symptoms off in front of those who could lock him up, as with the police.

Law enforcement WAS WARNED a week prior by one of this young mans
psychiatrists, NO ONE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT checked to see if he
OWNED or was trying to PURCHASE firearms pure STUPIDITY!!!!!

someone DID call for a wellness check and when the police came he was not actively suicidal or homocidal. End of story. I think you want to be careful too about refusing gun owner ship to anyone who has EVER been hospitalized for any type of emotional problem...the next step is taking certain medications..or seeing a counselor..THAT’S a lot of US citizens.
