They never remove laws they just stop enforcing them until they need them again when there is no other thing to charge someone with.
Moral of the story: don’t go to Somerset where a pompous police chief suffers from “I have a badge” syndrome.
I wonder if the arresting officer or the chief gets to keep the firearm(s) confiscated at the time of the arrest.
That can be a pretty nice little perk for the local LEO.
