I'm wondering how much of it comes from a desire for a strong central government, as a protector of Jews. Somewhat how during the Middle Ages the safest position was to be a Court Jew to the King or a nobleman. Are American Jews genetically programmed and immune to politics, and American life?
Don't you think they are just people who keep up with the news and the issues of the day, and vote accordingly?

Are American Jews genetically programmed and immune to politics, and American life? Don't you think they are just people who keep up with the news and the issues of the day, and vote accordingly? If that were the case, they would be less dramatically aligned with the Democrats.
Another issue may be that Jews see the Republican party as being heavily under the influence of Evangelicals, and they don't care for being aligned with Christians.
