They should make some Bullwinkle episodes where Boris and Natasha win.
Well, their media is not quite as good at propaganda as ours, but clearly it is as beholden to the corrupt scum who runs their government as ours is.
Sad times...
Bottom line is that in Russia you have access to every imaginable source of information. And a really lot of people are able to compute facts into their own opinions and tell propaganda for what is it.
The problem with fellow Americans is that the vast majority of people are too intellectually lazy to compute facts.
They prefer ready opinions, generated by someone else, and someone else always has some kind of agenda.
It wasn’t that much a liability a few decades ago when people had some proper core values as a moral compass to check said opinions to accept it or not, but it is certainly a problem now.
“In passing we learn such facts as that former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko finds domestic and foreign enemies no worse than Stalin did.
This article neglects to mention that Yulia Tymoshenko was caught on tape advocating the mass murder of all ethnic Russians. Wouldn’t that context be useful in understanding minority views of her in Ukraine?
“That the radical nationalist Right Sector activists are her storm troopers. “
This article neglects to mention that the interim government has formed new volunteer military units heavily populated by Right Sektor, etc.. These are the units they sent to stop people from voting, instead of regular army units.
The current head of Ukraine’s national security and defence council is Andriy Parubiy, who set up the neo-fascist Social National party of Ukraine together with the current leader of far-right Svoboda.
“Russian sources often refer to Ukrainian activists as followers of World War II-era Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera.”
Because lots of them actually do in fact glorify Stephan Bandera? Hello!
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-25826238
This article neglects to mention that Bandera strove to create a fascist totalitarian state, and advocated expelling or killing all minorities in Ukraine. His “OUN-B” military units mass murdered 80-100,000 Polish civilians in West Ukraine, 1943.
“The successes of rightist forces across Europe was attributed to the social tolerance of Western governments, including the legalisation of same-sex marriage.”
Is it not true?
In Russian culture a distinction is drawn between two kinds of lies, vranyo and lozh which do not have exact parallels in English. Vranyo has been claimed as uniquely Russian, and seems to consist of telling untrue but credible stories, a practice not condemned by those who recognize what is going on. Indeed, for success in vranyo-telling, there must be a listener who pretends to believe in the truth of what is being said. [...] Lozh, on the other hand, implies a conscious intention to deceive.
shhhhhh don’t let the Putinistas around here know. It will freak them out
If you believe everything is truth in regards to Ukraine (or Boko Haram, Libya, Egypt...) from our media sources I’ve got a bridge you might be interested in. I would hope FReeepers are more informed that the sheeple.
