The media would crucify any male GOP candidate for being sexist if he cleaned Hillary’s clock during a debate.

“The media would crucify any male GOP candidate for being sexist if he cleaned Hillary’s clock during a debate.”

We are now in the period in the presidential cycle where the candidates begin positioning themselves and generate background noise in the media. On the GOP side Jeb Bush, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz are out generating noise. Chris Christie appears to have been sidelined by the bridge gate scandal. Scott Walker is virtually unseen and may be distracted by a criminal investigation into his campaign financing activities.

On the Democrat side all of the buzz is about Warren and Hillary. While Cuomo and O’Malley may from an experience perspective be viable candidates they are not getting the low level media coverage they need to put their names in the public spotlight on a continuous basis they need in order to generate top of mind awareness in the average voter’s mind. Biden has received some press with respect to 2016 but doesn’t seem to be considered a serious contender.

The absence of buzz regarding male democrat consenters and the ongoing discussion of Hillary and Warren suggests the Democrat establishment will put a female on the top of the ticket in 2016 because they know it will be an almost certain win. Add a virtually unknown Hispanic to the ticket as the VP and it is very doubtful a fractured Republican Party can win. Conservative males will stay home if Jeb heads the ticket. Moderate GOP females will vote for Hillary or Warren if Cruz heads the Republican ticket and is painted as anti abortion and therefore anti-female.

Unless Benghazi gets traction, or she has a health issue, the Dem candidate will be Hillary. Likely due to Hillary’s age, there is concern something could happen from a health perspective between now an the election. Warren is the insurance policy. The current buzz seems to be all about putting her into position to head the ticket should Hillary have to drop out.

Demographics have consequences. In 2016 there will be fewer white male voters and more minority voters. White women will continue to be the key demographic. The “war on women” campaign theme continues to be very effective for the Democrats in swaying white female voters. The Democrats would be foolish not to run in 2016 with a female at the top of the ticket.

It happened in New York. Hillary crucified our candidate who was so horrible and I still can’t believe we thought he was going to beat Hillary when she ate him for breakfast during the debate. If could happen again but hopefully not.
