During my last bombshell blog post, I chronicled the Spanish conglomerate Abengoa that snagged billions of U.S. green energy stimulus funds, exposing how this foreign-owned entity screwed over American taxpayers, workers and vendors. This included a long wrap sheet of chilling, unethical and potentially criminal activity that only came to light due to the testimony, coupled with substantiated documentation, by a whistleblower, whom had worked for Abengoa for three years, from 2010 until 2013. In summary Abengoa:
Violated at least the spirit of the 2009-stimulus law as well as the Department of Energy (DOE) loan stipulations Conspired and blatantly broke U.S. immigration laws and engaged in employee favoritism with Spanish (and other foreign) workers, while discriminating against and mistreating American workers Committed insurance fraud Shorted many U.S. vendors
Due to the tenacity of this informant, we do know that at least two federal investigations are moving forward: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Labor Department; however, other than Ryan Randazzo, reporter for the newspaper the Arizona Republic, the press on this is non-existent another travesty adding to the long list in this terrible tale.
Yep, we got screwed, but it gets worse

They're going to use that much water, per day. In California, already land of the water shortage.
How about Colorado just not send any more water to California as long as they're just wasting it like this. Thanks to California, in Colorado it is illegal to collect rainwater in a barrel to water your lawn, garden, landscaping, etc. We have to let all the water go "naturally" so California can waste it? Think I'll take a little drive into the mountains this weekend. Get up to the continental divide, step over it, and relieve myself. There Cali, you can have that water for free.
This solar plant, overruns, and associated costs will be about 3.5 billion out of the taxpayers.
This solar plant, due to using up some of its own energy itself, will produce about 220 mw of power for customers each year.
If 300 mw provides energy for 150,000 people (about half), then 220 mw will provide energy for about 110,000 people.
An off grid solar system for giving 100% power to a good-sized home will run 20-30 thousand dollars.
Dividing the larger number, 30000, in 3.5 billion = 116,000 homes can be energy independent and never have another energy bill if the government fitted each of the 116,000 homes with solar energy. In other words, it would actually serve more homes.
Additionally, it would provide countless jobs and manufacturing hours for American businesses.
Thanks calfit32.
But it’s GREEEEEN? As long as left coast Prius driving hipsters sleep better at night no price is too high.
