Wells Fargos bank in New Mexico has taken down the American flag that was hanging inside the building for six years. It says a few people complained that the flag was offensive. When questioned as to why the flag was offensive, the bank refused to provide an answer.

There was a whole bunch of knee jerking about this on Facebook. Since the original display was not shown, we can’t know. Flag code (which is not enforced today as no penalty is attached to failure to follow it) is that the flag can’t be part of a commercial display. If you’ve been in a Wells Fargo you probably have seen how they deck the walls with Americana. I’d probably want a flag to be distinguished from kitsch.
Remember when New Mexico was cleaner than the old one?
Video says that the old flag was mounted with “tacks,” likely the reason for complaints.
