Earlier today we wrote about how Cruz, Lee, Paul, Enzi, and Robertson were all standing together to strip the IMF legislation out of the aid package bill for Ukraine. As I said earlier, the IMF legislation would basically double the contribution of the US to the IMF fund while lessening Americas influence over how that money is spent.
So what does McConnell do? Does he stand with the filibuster effort? No, pushes Republicans to vote for the bill, thus making sure to get Harry Reid his 60 votes to pass the bill to prevent the filibuster led by Cruz and the others.
So now Reids Ukraine aid bill containing the IMF legislation has bipartisan support and he will use that to hammer the House to accept his bill. And we all know what tends to happen when Reid and Obama gang up on the House leadership. They fold like a lawn chair on a rainy day.
Mark Levin says McConnell and the Republican leadership could learn something from Putin, that is Obama will eventually fold if you stand firm against him.
Listen below as Levin explains it in much more detail below:

It’s never ending
no way the entire bill can be stopped? why not? why isn’t Cruz filibustering tax money for Ukraine? because he’s ok with that! another phony - give our tax money to foreign countries - “conservative”
This turd needs to be flushed.
Just wondering, if you were in charge, would you let Ukraine flop in the wind with Russia breathing down their necks?
It is my understanding that we have an agreement with Ukraine, so tell me William, does that agreement only apply when America is in the mood to help?
Curious why you are beating a dead horse here.
Thanks
Curious why you are beating a dead horse here.
I’m curious why conservatives only care about the federal deficit and debt when it comes to domestic spending - e.g., GOP (correctly) instisted on no extension of unemployment benies without corresponding savings elsewhere. But foreign aid? Hey, spend as much as you like! No questions asked! Same with foreign wars. Boehner reflexively sided with Obama’s plan to bomb Syria - without asking any questions about the cost - until voters rose up and said H-ll no!
As for Ukraine, somebody has to persuade me it matters to me and to U.S. security - enough to further increase our debt, spend our tax money (or the money we borrow from China) - whose flag flies over its capital. I haven’t seen the case made. Just a lot of rhetoric. Somehow it’s a crisis that Russia is invading its neighbor - but we’ve been invading countries (Obama into Libya, anyone?) on the other side of the globe, and GOP was fine with it (and they spent our tax dollars big time; no grumbling about the deficit).
