“wow what pieces of work these people are”

I've dealt with this personally, with a cut and dried case. It's astounding to what lengths those in positions of power will go in order to cover up and ignore wrongdoing - even while puffing themselves up as the protectors of ‘the people’. I have not become cynical. I've become resigned to the limitations of humanity.

Also, it has become clear that often (although not always) those who successfully climb a political hierarchy were able to do so because they learned to look the other way and accept breaking the rules along the way (go along to get along). The Clintons surrounded themselves with these kinds of people.

I've long thought that what really happens with "RINOs", is they accept a Devil's bargain: you can philander with girls and interns, you can accept bribes, you can do coke, and nobody in the press will have any interest in your activities -- PROVIDED you do not oppose the Democrats on anything important.
