It is difficult to believe that we as a country really look this bad. It's so bad that a serious piece over at the Daily Beast reads like it should be in the Onion.
In response to an executive order hitting the Russians with tough sanctions, Russian Official, Vladislav Surkov, said, Its a big honor for me. I dont have accounts abroad. The only things that interest me in the U.S. are Tupac Shakur, Allen Ginsberg, and Jackson Pollock. I dont need a visa to access their work. I lose nothing. Well isn't that a holy trio of diplomatic speak.
In response, we have news of "Vladimir Putin's sanction list." The number one candidate for the list is ... drum roll ... Senator Dick Durbin. Well gee! I've been wanting to sanction that guy for years!! Thanks Vladimir!
Also on the list might be our own RFNJ Doughnut Girl, Victoria Nuland, the Assistant Secretary of State for Europe. My sources tell me that Victoria still maintains a fundamental disagreement with the Kremlin because it was yummy strudel with piped frosting and not doughnuts she fed to CIA clients in Maidan Square.
Regardless, the fellows over at the Daily Beast tell us that, "The tit for tat sanctions are not likely to convince either side to back down." Well, how big is that tit? (Calm down - no link for that one).
They also tell us that "There are signs that Putin is preparing a scenario ahead of a possible invasion of Eastern Ukraine, including sending Russian intelligence agents inside Ukraine to stir up unrest as a pretext for a possible expansion of the invasion." NO WAY! That's like a wolf in sheep's clothing! A horse of a different color! Or some other tricky animal!
It is so bad, the press just has no heart to report what is going on. Our policy of petulance community organized Occupy Kiev. The real professional organizers took the opportunity to fundamentally change the borders of a nation. That's change you can believe in!
Meanwhile, back in Kiev, Dmytro Yarosh, who made a name for himself as an expert with firebombs, will be running for President with the backing of the Right Sector. By all means John McCain, let's arm these guys, so they can blow up Russian oil pipelines!
All the while, the Ukranian Parlaiment never impeached Viktor Yanukovych from office. They simply voted to accept his voluntary renunciation of duties.
When planning a revolution, "The First Thing We Do, Let's Kill All the Lawyers." Looks now like Russia is doing just the opposite (Come on click the link if you didn't click on the picture!) The Ukrainian courts may declare the present regime in Kiev as illegitimate within the next three days. That is illegitimate as in illegal, unlike the legal vote that just took place in Crimea. Dad, get me out of this.
The author is deluded
which one?
I’m afraid that Putin will send Cuban troops to the Cayman Islands and delete Obama’s funds. That would really get the game going!
Afraid? Heck I'd laugh my ass off if that happened.
Wouldn't we all!
This just in.....Obama has drawn a yellow line in Ukraine.
The one who think a referendum held by an invading- occupying army is a legitimate vote
Fidel might ask Putin for a referendum in Dade and Monroe counties in Florida to see if they would like to be taken over and added to Cuba. What would the vote be?
Intolerant: I saw a report on RT very similar to the one you have described. Did you notice that the participants read their responses from a script on teleprompters? No part of the discussion was spontaneous. The propaganda on all sides is getting very thick and bordering on childish.
You attribute belief to the author where it is not due. The point is the Russians, believable or not, are appealing to our “Wilsonian” impulse for self determination. This peals away MSM enthusiasm to oppose them. It is effective propaganda.
Being invaded is not self-determination, not even close
Neither is having where you live donated to another country where nobody speaks your language with you and the people you live there with having no say whatsoever. So what qualifies as self determination in that part of the world. The west funding a bomb chucker in Kiev?
