Anybody knowing he's about to get law enforcement attention should backup, restore the non-sensitive files to a new disk, and leave the old disk with your lawyer (to avoid "obstruction of justice" charges over "destroying evidence"). LEOs are much more hesitant about smashing down lawyers doors and seizing privileged information.

They will rarely execute a search warrant on a lawyer's office, but they will serve the lawyer with a subpoena.

“UPDATE 3/16: Apparently the temporary restraining order obtained by Ares Armor was revised to include a clause to “not restrain lawful criminal proceedings”.

I was wondering why no one posted the restraining order. Now I know.

So, I guess the ATF considers breaking into a business and stealing its computers and records is a “lawful criminal proceeding”.

If they had a search warrant that specifically listed the computers and records, it was presumptively lawful. I say "if" because no one has posted the warrant (just as no one has posted the restraining order). And I say "presumptively," because even a warrant is unlawful if the affidavit used to get it was knowingly false.

Ares has copies of the restraining order and the warrant (and possibly the affidavit-- it is typically served with the warrant). If they posted them there would be a lot less speculation on this thread.

David Codrea emailed me while I was at the Tanner Gun Show this morning.
He’s going to be updating folks on Tom Gresham’s GunTalk Radio (At 3:30 Eastern), and Mark Walters’s Armed American Radio (Later that afternoon/evening).

Assuming they know the lawyer has the drive. Just don't answer any questions with anything but "please direct all questions to my attorney".

Tom’s Show is live at this moment, but as you know we do the 7:00 CST rebroadcast on FR.

I look forward to hearing David.

Cute NATO blue gloves.

They are coming.
Glad to see Ca fighting back even if it is feeble.
Nasty City used to be anything but PC.

Yeah. David is awesome. I am so honored that I have had email talks with Tom Gresham, David Codrea, John Lott, Emily Miller, and a bunch of those other excellent people.
David’s REALLY funny on the Armed American Radio show. Talking with Mark about BBQ (Grilling while armed), and all sorts of hilarious stuff.
AAR is the only show that sticks to the political side of the 2nd amendment issues.
Kinda sad, too. We need more people to get off of their butts and pay attention.

Oh, HELL yeah!

BTW, if you have a GunTalk ping list, would you kindly place me on it?
Thank you.

You have been added to the GT Ping list.

A chinwag will follow at 7 CST.

I just do the rebroadcast at 7 to avoid conflict with Sunday dinners and NFL.

No Problem.

FYI carriage_hill runs the thread when I am not around.

Jim needs to add us to the talkradio link.

Wait.
There’s a talkradio link?

Hey, Jim. Please add Mark Walters’s Armed American Radio on that link too, please.
That show is hilarious. Guns and politics every Sunday. Three hours worth.

Have a good one, FRiends.

There is a link for shows that have FR hosts.

Many of them are dead links.
No thread, no participants.

GT is fairly popular at 7 CST but I have a hard time keeping it up week in and week out.

The beat goes on....

I had a Rusty Humphries thread going for a while and rusty signed up on FR.

He was kind enough to give us free access to his show, but I just could not keep it up.

WOW!
That’s what I get for making my home page on my PCs and iPhones default to the FR most recent comments page for the last fourteen years.

I heard the live show this afternoon; Tom was all over this with CalGuns and several other noted callers. He’s PO’d, quite alarmed and sounding the warning trumpets.
