responsibilities and get paid for it. (based on IQs/not FoP policy)

That’s right. And the morons who are most unfit for police service become the chiefs.
It is telling that only One police chief has stood up and told the truth; that armed citizens reduce crime.
It will only get worse as hiring standards deteriorate, and cover-ups become SOP.

A friend of mine used to be a cop, and his father has been a sheriff for decades. He agrees with you and puts the number at about half of them.
