The Obama administration is working around the clock to come up with ways to punish Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine. But will any of them work?
Behind the scenes, Obama administration officials are preparing a series of possible battle plans for a potential economic assault on Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine, an administration source close to the issue told The Daily Beast. Among the possible targets for these financial attacks: everyone from high-ranking Russian military officials to government leaders to top businessmen to Russian-speaking separatists in Ukraine. It’s all part of the work to prepare an executive order now under consideration at the Obama administration’s highest levels.

In otherwords nothing. If Obama put 1/10th the effort in to punishing Putin as he does the Tea Party and conservatives something might actually change. BUT. 100% of Obama’s focus is on destroying domestic opposition.

Unfortunately, the time to do it was in the last five years when the Mahdi sent Putin an unbroken series of signs of weakness accompanied by ridiculous insults about things like Putin’s treatment of homosexuals. All in all it was just like a prison punk mincing around showing complete weakness accompanied by contempt for the bull con. Well, the bull con just got the punk alone in the shower, made the punk drop the soap, and the rest’s history.
Now Putin will tell Obama, “Now go home and get your @#&@! shinebox.”

Right. Obama could try to pull another Afghanistan ala Brezinsky - have some agency put out a call world-wide for jahidis to come and fight for Islam in Crimea. Arm them with shoulder-held anti-aircraft weapons.
