I love Neo Orleans. I’ve been there twice, and I know it’s a leftist cesspool, but I still love it there. As we approach ‘Fat Tuesday’ on March 4th, this weekend is full of celebration. So far, there have been at least two anti-ObamaCARE floats spotted at the Mardi Gras in liberal New Orleans (which also happens to be porker Mary Landrieu’s hometown.) The first one was discovered by Gateway Pundit on Twitter.
I’m sure there will be plenty of leftist cries of racism since this Mardi Gras anti-ObamaCARE float shows Obama in a less than flattering manner.
Another anti-ObamaCARE float with ‘death panels’ also appeared mocking Obama and ObamaCARE.
Very impressive and creative by those who created these floats.

We NYers have the same problem with out-of-towner freepers. They paint with a very broad brush. We report from the trenches!
New Orleans is one of my favorite cities although I only visit as a tourist.
Try not to take it personally. I get this crap about NYC all the time.
New Orleans has a spectacular history and is one of the most beautiful and fascinating cities in the United States.
Not everyone of FR wants to live in a McMansion in the boring suburbs.
In other New Orleans Mardi Gras news apparently there will be a huge Toronto Mayor Rob Ford float with him sucking on a crack pipe. Our mayor is also heading to LA for the Academy Awards and a Jimmy Kimmel talk show chat. The election for mayor is underway now with 4 candidates declared. It’s going to be a 3 ring circus all year. Currently because city council stripped him of most of his powers the deputy mayor does an awful lot of the city business leaving Ford to galavant around all over the place. He is attacking the chief of police in the press and vice versa. Fun fun fun. Meanwhile you in NY will have relative calm. :)
I don't know anything about the politics of New Orleans but I do know that it's a very dangerous place. In 1959 I was an 18-year-old soldier based at Camp Leroy Johnson in NOLA. The guy who bunked next to me one night went to the Mardi Gras. He never came back; someone beat him to death downtown with a tire iron. I kept myself on the base thereafter, not wishing to be killed.
You can keep that miserable place. Anyone with any sense or knowledge of it would never go there. Its reputation is well-deserved, in my opinion.

I go there every year on my birthday and have never even come across a nasty person much less someone with a tire iron.
I suppose I should be happy it’s “Let’s beat up Nola today,” instead of the perennial favorite “Let’s beat up NYC today.”
You obviously do not see all of the Mardi Gras festivities. I have seen on TV many instances of attacks on revelers.
The crowds shown in these TV accounts show a very drunken, rowdy bunch of people that I wouldn’t get near.
From your past postings I have concluded that that you travel in “elevated” social circles, so I would not expect you to be out there mingling with the common people. If you did, you would know that participating in the Mardi Gras festivities is a dangerous thing to do.
But, hey, keep it up and eventually you may indeed by accident run across a “nasty person.” Believe me, they are out there in New Orleans, especially at Mardi Gras time.
Some of the krewes are pretty level-headed folks who just enjoy a good party.
Wow. Now back to the OP’s point. Those floats are a very encouraging sign. I love “Obamacare Entitlement Room—BEND OVER”
Mardi Gras——ehhh-—who needs a huge crowd, jacked up hotel rates and weirdo parades. Visit off peak season and for me to enjoy the food and some of the music plus the history and culture of the place. The drunken morons wobbling down Bourbon St.and the lewd acts are to avoid. I love listening to the natives accent and Zydeco/Cajun music. It identifies with no other place but southern Louisiana.
Yeh-— a previous company I worked for we had a bunch of New Orleans based personnel and they weren’t transplants.
Them cajuns could party-—they seemed to take things in stride and never got too bent out of shape on any pressing matter. One guy would always use the ‘word’. “Funkadoodle”.
I love them cajuns but they can keep their alligator meat. Yuckadoodle...
Everyone knows there are bad things during Mardi Gras and on Bourbon Street. I’m allergic to any kind of parade, actually. I hate that stuff. But it’s still an amazing city.

I didn’t say you are a lib. I just going on some of your posts in the past in which you note that you have met such and such a celebrity and in the context it sounds as though you met this person at a cocktail party or through business contacts.
I wouldn't want to live in either city, but I respect your choice.
Nice floats... I think the floats will be called in the MSM racist and hateful. Nola is a nice place to visit.
Don’t go walking around there on a hot day, especially if you weigh 340lbs. Don’t ask me how I know that, though...
