What I can see (and I have talked and listened to a few ex-LEO and military at my gun club), is that when the current “amnesty” period is up and they still don’t get the registrations and rifles they are looking for, the CSP will be ordered to make an “example” of a single or few gun owners to put on a big show to the others to “turn them in”.

Of course these poor few gun owners they target will most likely be someone very timid and they will be dragged out of there home hog-tied and the media will be brought into view the perp’s “arsenal of weapons and ammo”.

The Lt. of the CSP will be there on camera to give a stern warning to others that they better turn in there weapons or this will happen to you soon “we have information on you!!!!”

After that, most will comply or move their weapons out of state.

Yes, there may be only a little over 1200 CSP, but the state could try to declare that the anyone not turning in their weapons could potentially be TERRORISTS! That would being in the Feds to add to their numbers.

The media would be in full fledge “All gun owners are terrorists!” mode and there would be a big campaign to get people to rat out those that they know who have these weapons with big money rewards. Mothers and wives would be ratting out their sons and husbands believing they are protecting them from the fate that occurred to the few poor “examples”.

That scenario seems to be the one that the people I talk to thinks will happen.

Actually I can see that happening, the backlash those women would face would be terrible to behold though. Many, many men would see that as a betrayal as big as an adulterous affair leading to divorce and him losing it all in the ‘family courts’.

There is always a breaking point with a person, some know where theirs is some don’t. I think actions like these tend to make people discover where theirs is.

I hear you. No matter how it goes down (and I hope reason prevails), this is an issue that neither side can afford to lose. The author was correct in saying it will not be contained to Connecticut. It will spill over.
