When I was a kid in 1st grade at St. Joesphat’s in Phila. they made us learn ukrainian for some reason. To this day I know not why.

Update. The bloodied man on the photo with his son is Ph.D in technology, professor, chairman of the Mathematical Methods of Information Security of the Research institute KPI (I can't decipher the abbreviation), fellow of the Cybernetics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Nikolai Yu. Kuznetsov.
