"Conservatives" need to decide what their priorities are becasue no candidate will 100% what a conservative wants. As far as I'm concerned, recovery, restoration, and re-establishment of freedom and the Constitution in America is by far our #1 political priority. IMO, THAT is what we all should be rallying around. People are way too easily distracted by rabbit-trail issues taking their eye off the ball which is the imminent threat of big, dictatorial government extinguishing our freedoms and our constitution. Every other political issue is chump change IMO.
To be honest, I'm not sure what "conservatives" stand for these days. I used to call myself a conservative but now it's clear to me I'm a libertarian. The word "conservative" implies conserving the status quo. I hate the status quo. I love individual freedom. The free market is not "conservative" but dynamic and ever-changing - you can't harness it and you don't want to. The free market is THE dynamic wealth creator. Blow up government and set the American People free once again and to h**l with the "progressives".
If the Tea Party is strong on the Constitution why doesn’t it demand that Obama get a Congressional formal declaration of war before any military action in Syria or Iran? If they won’t do that, they are just shelf space for the GOP brand.
Got a phone call today from “Name Withheld” on my cell phone. The person on the other end asked for me by name and I responded “Who’s calling? - Twice. He then went into a non-stop rant about electing Republicans at all levels nd contributing to the GOP.
That’s when I let him have it with both barrels: “I am not a Republican any more. As long as you have those two idiots, Boehner and McConnell, constantly bad-mouthing Conservatives and TEA Party, I want nothing to do with you.”
Silence, then “OK, well have a good day”.
We Need to stand Against the Uniparty.
Against the progressives weather or not they have and "R" or "D" by their name.
“Their (our) best shot at doing this is invasion and instigation of a coup d’état within the GOP.”
With respect, I don’t see it that way. The gop faction is pathologically resistant to change or reform. It goes against the underlying reason for it’s existence: namely to act as a judas goat for conservatives.
I think we’re better off rejecting BOTH wings of the uniparty and their legacy of duplicity and corruption. This blue flag, red flag crap is exactly that: crap. Better still, why embrace political parties at all? Maybe the founders really WERE right in their aversion to them.
