there are a hell of a lot of Catholics who despise them. One should only look to the yearly pro-life demonstrations in Washington,That's what this article is about — those who do identify as Democrat even though the Dem platform runs completely counter to Catholic teachings. It's about the numbers overall. The chart below was from the Bush years; couldn't find one for Obama's election, but my guess is that it would have skewed even more Democrat among Catholics:

It illustrates why there is a systematic attack on everything Born Again Christians believe in. The leftists don't have to worry about the RCC, their members are part of their base.
