Sadly, the odds are another liberal GOP-er will ascend to Speaker.
We do need a Speaker that will kill amnesty or America & our Constitution are dead.
If I had my pick, I’d go with Tom Graves, my old Congressman, at least until I got redistricted under that neo-traitor Doug Collins’ district.
People like Ryan, Rubio, and Rand Paul need to take a real serious look at the damage they’re doing to their careers by pushing amnesties on a GOP base that DOES NOT want it
And I don't give a crap about his personal life ... so far NO one .. not even YOU (dear FReeper) could meet your own standards.
F*** it ... let's get it on !
How about the rep from Texas Gohmer? I think, he at least talks a good game. If we could clone Palin, I think we would at least have someone with a set, not to mention a good rack.
Know what, your right. Remember when they made such a fuss about Bush’s service record, well look at the clown we have now and we aren’t sure that he even came from a country that has a an army. In fact, we don’t know anything about him and hes destroying our country.
I'm afraid we're in a minority, but I'd like to hear anyone respond to my personal accusation.
Our nation and her survival is more important than a man or some idealism that can't hold a candle to the idealism that IS America.
I’d give my vote to Trey Gowdy. I think he is on the ball and has a set too.
I’d vote for TREY GOWDY...
What hope is there when we have no Ronald Reagan?
“How about the rep from Texas Gohmer? I think, he at least talks a good game.”
He would do. There’s another solid conservative from Texas that I would consider; Kenney Marchant. He’s light on seniority, about 86th I think. But, his conservative bonifides are excellent....
Thank you.
You said it all when you said, most here on Fr could not reach the goals we put up for those in DC.
I think Newt is a very smart man and that is what we need in DC, he can think on his feet and doesn’t need a teleprompter to tell him what to say.
The job is, by definition, one where compromise is inherent.Pulling votes together, holding members in line, dealing with Communist left, etc. can make one compromise principles.
This is no defense of Boehner. If I lived in his district, I would vote for his primary opponent and if necessary, vote Democrat in the general election. He MUST be defeated, as must McConnell.
As for the next speaker, my choices would be 1) Louie Gohmert, 2) Pete Sessions or 3) Trey Gowdy.
Agree with Newt.
I would suggest one of my favorite congressmen - Rep Gohmert from Texas.
Trey Gowdy is a fairly articulate and passtionate speaker on at least some subjects
Jeb Hensarling - I haven’t seen him much but have liked him when I’ve heard him
Jason Chaffetz from UT - I’ve liked him when I’ve seen/heard him, though I’m not sure he’s the best choice for speaker (would certainly be an improvement over our current one)
Allen West is another possibility.
IMHO we need someone with conservative values, who will stand up to the Dems AND speaks well. Outside of the obvious, I don’t think either Boehner or Cantor is a good at speaking, they’re not very passionate.
Id vote for TREY GOWDY...Also
Allen West and Ben Carson for President / VP
Personally, I fear the clock ... we’ve got one minute before twelve (IMO) and we don’t have the time to TRY someone.
Perfect choice is Jim DeMint. And he'd win the GOP caucus vote in a second..
