It leads me to the conclusion they have groomed and selected more than a few of these guys. Some make it to office. Some to high office. What becomes of the unlucky one's, we will likely never know.

Yep. For the cost of a few fighter jets a hostile country can sponsor tens of thousands of future quislings.

Hundreds will end up in places where they can write or interpret laws for the hostile country's enemy.

And who knows? One might even get elected as that country's leader!

The rest? They get no more thought than the millions slaughtered over a few yards of worthless French soil in trench warfare.
