Please excuse the vanity.
I am wondering two things in regards to this, as noted below.
First, what occurred:
Traveling from Phoenix to LA on Friday we noticed the back up to the border crossing (usually used for fruit questions) was at least 2 miles long for those entering Arizona. On our return today, the line was maybe ½ mile and we were delayed 15-20 minutes.
This by itself is a rare occurrence as usually the delay (if any) is brief. We have done this 12-15 times in past 5 years or so. Here is the unusual part:
30-40 cars, trucks and busses representing: Border patrol, CHP, Arizona Highway patrol, also including use of service dogs and what may have been national guard or Homeland security. Also unusual was the number of various official vehicles (Jeeps/Cars) parked on the side of the road or on the median monitoring and watching traffic.
Question for fellow Freepers:
1) Is this occurring on other state crossings?
2) Is this occurring on other Az. Crossings (I-8, I-40) or from New Mexico on same routes?
3) How long has this been going on (we crossed last at Thanksgiving and saw nothing)?
Never heard of them at state lines.
At thanksgiving, crossing into CA at Yuma, the fruit question stop was closed. Otherwise all was normal!
Most likely official escorts for newest illegal (soon to be legal) democrat voters...
Sounds unusual.
Shipmement from the Sinaloa Cartel on it’s way to Colorado. /s
I would think that it is very, very unusual. I cross into California from Nevada several times a year for shopping trips, doctor appointments etc., and have never seen anything like that. One minute wait tops, if even that.
An abnormal number of nuts and flakes were coming in from California, confusing the fruit inspectors.
I-40 at the NM state line is usually closed when I go by.
Obama has been pretending that he deports illegal immigrants.
He does this by reporting the number of illegals turned back or detained at the border, which no other administration has ever reported before.
They probably busted a bunch of illegals in a camper, and “Sheriff” Obama will get a front page story tomorrow in the L.A. Times.
This was a big effort on their part.
But this sounds more like they're looking for something (or someone) a bit more menacing than bug infested fruit.
I went through the I8 stop at Boulevard, Ca and I was surprised that two lanes were open and it took a minute at most.
Your new DHS Commie sar was touring the border. He was in the valley also. He is inspecting the gates to make sure they open all the way!
I drove in to AZ from CA at the same I 10 crossing Fri jan 18 late afternoon and saw the same thing..very long lines going in to CA..ive done this crossing at least a hundred times in the last 5 years ..this is not normal...but this the first time ive done the drive in a year .... so can not say how long it has been going on
Correction I acossed Fri Jan 11
Welcome
They are allover so I have read. TN was the 1st place I read about. Haven’t seen any in NC but where I’m at traffic is F’d up enough without any “we are from the govt and here to help” help!!!
Supposed to be at most Major sporting events soon.
Just more 4th A violations & conditioning of the sheeples.
I think you are really dumb.
You didn’t recognize a Demonrat voter registration out reach?
Am guessing it is a one time thing. Usually the back up is entering California. CA has to ensure no one brings any contraband fruit into the state. Marijuana okay. Apples no.
