They haven’t been able to win as Democrats in Texas, so now Democrats will be running as fake Republicans.

And, in many states, Democrats finance getting “Libertarian” candidates on the ballot with a goal of diverting votes from the Republican in the race. It’s not uncommon for that to work—with the Democrats very satisfied that it was money well spent.
