So you think the Brosurance and the Pajama Boy ads for Obamacare were pretty weird? Well, to paraphrase Al Jolson, you ain't seen nothing yet!
And what you haven't seen yet is a surreal danceoff performance between Richard Simmons and a contortionist during a six hour Obamacare infomercial produced by Covered California. They were supposed to inspire young people to sign up but mostly what they did is inspire a lot of laughter...along with a bunch of dropped jaws. Perhaps "surreal" doesn't adequately describe this video (and below the fold) since it is more like a laughable rip in the space/time continuum.

Dear. God.
i think your gaydar is outdated. minepicked him up the first time i saw him,and i was probably seven then.
Can’t wait to see mac daddy in his favorite bath house telling naked young men the benifits of obamacare.
I just saw video on Fox.
The strangest, gay fest I’ve ever seen
Homo mating dance ping
Do the powers that be really think some 20-something is going to see this and be motivated and inspired to sign up for health insurance?
Show this to kids and it’ll scare them straight.
Homo-disturbing on an epic level.
The creepiest part was the lezbo muttering while they were dancing “get covered... get your health insurance...get covered” like some creepy subliminal crap. I know for sure I have slipped into the Twilight Zone
I’ve got “W.A.S.P.” on the headphones looping just for brain bleach.
In California, apparently the answer is “yes.”
Maybe it’s the moment when the androgynous host(ess) places a flower across “Nathan’s” a$$ that will win them over. Of course, they may have been hooked already, when Richard Simmons pushed his red-tights-clad pelvis towards Nathan, and then did a quick flip to show his backside, ready for “hashtag GetCovered” action that won the day.
I hereby renounce my citizenship to the United States of America.
It is hard to parody that which is already beyond the absurd.
Roll, baby, roll.
:)
I did feel strangely/strongly compelled to go buy a peacock.
Not sure what’s up with that.
I think you've summed up the reaction of all TRUE Americans.
Funny, yes but there is a huge ick factor as in I want to vomit.
WTF?
