My dad was born by a "country mid wife" in a small home more than 10 miles away from a hospital in the early 30s. But his birth was documented and recorded at the local County Court House Hall of Records..

Some of the same history, I see. My mum is not exactly certain when she was finally able to be driven into the nearest town for all the paperwork necessary after I was born, but County Clerk seems the most likely possibility for records, but again: those old records no longer exist.
